Santilli in Neuquén Secures Support for Labor Reform

Buenos Aires, Jan 21 (NA) – Following his successful tour in Salta, Interior Minister Diego Santilli on Wednesday reaped the rewards of his visit to Neuquén, securing Governor Rolando Figueroa's commitment to support the labor reform in Congress. "No governor can be against a law that aims to generate private employment, increase productivity, and attract investments for the provinces and Argentina," Santilli preached in Neuquén, repeating the same speech from his previous stops on this federal tour. For the official, advancing a new regulatory framework "is key to creating jobs, providing predictability to the productive sector, and supporting economic growth throughout the country." In turn, Figueroa commented that during the meeting with Santilli, "the strategic issues of Neuquén were put on the table" and they agreed to "strengthen a working agenda with the national government." "Furthermore, in the province we have enacted modern collective bargaining agreements by sector, which will not suffer any modifications," he added. Finally, Figueroa stated that the province will "support every initiative that drives development" and guaranteed that they will present to the national government "what we consider a priority, always taking care of our Neuquén identity and thinking about the future."

The Federal Tour

Before meeting with Gustavo Saenz in Salta's capital on Monday, the official with a past (and present?) in the Republican Proposal (PRO) had visited Chubut, Chaco, Mendoza, and San Juan as part of his federal tour to garner support for the reform, which will be the main course during the February extraordinary sessions in Parliament. According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), Minister Javier Milei will meet on Thursday in Parana with the governor of Entre Ríos, Rogelio Frigerio, with the intention of securing another key support for the government's labor reform.
